She Just Plays Her Husband’s Records, 2018.
In 2010 I established a podcast Work Your Soul to highlight the importance of under-represented rare soul music artists from the 1960s. I used my collection of vinyl records and this led to DJing around Australia. This body of work was prompted by an overheard remark from a male DJ.
The installation comprised a looped video constructed from archival and contemporary archives, a turntable playing a silent record on repeat and a QR code link to the podcast.
